About this blog

This blog began as a chronicle of a family trip through the U.S. during the beginning of the Great Recession. Now I write as a millennial, trying to find answers, hopeful for a promised future, and altogether lost and found.

I started writing as a young teenager and I continue now as a twenty-something expatriate. You can see the way my writing voice has evolved over the last decade, and yes I do find my early style embarrassing. At least I have early writings to look back and reflect on.

I call the Pacific Northwest home, but I've been living as an expatriate for the last six years. My travels have taken me from Southeast Asia, to East Africa, and now the Middle East. A music enthusiast, avid reader of the news, and lover of sitcoms, I often find myself thinking about life or entertaining various ideas, although I should be doing homework. You can email me at ryan [at] wheretheroadlies [.] com.
